Exclusion criteria

In principle, no one is excluded, but in some cases it may happen that Praktijk Gezin & Zo is not able to provide the right care (immediately). For example, when the demand for care is so complex that a multidisciplinary team is needed. Together we can look for the best solution for your request for help.

If you have the following problems unfortunately I can't provide with care.

A reason or circumstance for not applying individual counselling are:
• Absence or withdrawal of consent to counselling by either parent/carer or legal representative(s).
• Inability to establish a working relationship with the child and/or its parents/carers.
• Lack of agreement on problems, goals and funding.
• Registrations of children with unclear parental authority.
• Problems related to family circumstances such as neglect, addiction, abuse. These complaints and problems are primarily  the responsibility of Youth Protection, among others.
• Implementing freedom-restricting measures.
• Acute, severe psychiatric problems where crisis intervention and/or clinical treatment is required.
• I do not specialise in counselling young people with severe intellectual disabilities.
• I cannot accept young people or their parents who express severe transgressive, threatening verbal and/or physical violence.
Furthermore, I adhere to the professional standards and guidelines applicable to youth and family professionals.
